Yesterday, I decided to take a different tack…to be more relaxed and take the attitude that I can’t get it all done in a few hours and just work at what I wanted to, knowing that it will eventually all get done, if not this trip then some other time. I managed to accomplish perhaps not as much as yesterday BUT everything was falling into place and my cortisol levels were down to something I could live with.
Hubby took Tuesday to work on re-screening around the pool area. He spent most of the day just removing the old screen and attempting to do the job right. The last time it was done, it was perhaps not done as neatly as it could have been. It was done shortly after Hurricane Charlie and my elderly dad with a worn out rotator cuff and a stiff shoulder from a previous shoulder replacement did most of it until I arrived tired and frazzled. That was the week we moved from Arizona. (Talk about stressful!)
As can be expected, 200 feet of screen wire could not be found locally so that means waiting to have it ordered in or run off to the next larger town, which will take a better part of the morning.
Noon-ish today someone is coming to give us an air duct mold evaluation. We are praying that if it has mold in the system that the tests will reveal it and what kinds. This might be helpful in solving the Mid-Kid’s health decline in Dec. At the very least we know that the ducting is dirty because grit comes out when the system runs.
Then this evening a man is coming to give us an estimate on staining the floor!! The man had missed Hubby’s message from earlier last week and promptly called Hubby as soon he learned about it. What a surprise!
And speaking of phone calls, we have again been able to acquire the yard services of the cheapest yard man in town. We aren’t sure why he gives us such a great rate for our less than small yard here but we are thankful for it! I don’t know if it’s a veteran thing or if he just feels sorry for us, or if he gives everyone such a great price, but by having him do the work instead of another man will saves us several hundred a year.
So yesterday, was productive on many fronts. Today being the middle of the week we are quickly looking at the fact that we will not be leaving before early next week. There is just too much still undone.
And with that I am off for to bust more piles….
