So we all go out in a mad dash to herd chickens. Now chicken herding can be quite entertaining to say the least.
At first we thought that the high school kids had stolen it. After all they have been smashing mailboxes and recently we've heard of a couple of arson incidents...so at first thought we were ready to call the sheriff.
Hubby decided to go look for it. And sure enough I see him over a quarter mile away with what used to be our hoop house....
Always when we have a strong wind there is evidence of it with dead fall, leaves, and other tossed stuff. This was particularly strange because there was no sign at all that there had been a strong wind in the night. Nothing out of place except the chickens...
Later in the day, Zeb drove down the road and about a mile away there was one snapped off tree. Again no dead fall or evidence of a big wind. So we have to assume that a twister touched down in a couple of spots....one being on top of our hoop house the other on this tree. The funny thing about this tree is that it still had it leaves and just looked like something snapped it off at the ground.
