On Thursday while daughter #3 and I were working our Farmers Market daughter #2 weeded a huge section with some very tough grass. Unfortunately, she about over did and has not recovered well from it. I try to encourage her not to overwork herself because one of the problems with this Lyme Soup is if you work too hard it weakens the immune system and gives ground to the spirochetes and other bugs attacking it. She has spent a couple of days in her room with a book but today she has been up and is making hair cockades for our Farmers Markets craft tent.
One of these herbs was a potted winter savory. I bought it last year from the herb man at the farmers market. Someone had requested one so he got the seeds. But they never came and got it. So being something different I bought it. I love different herbs and I love to grow them. There is something terribly wonderful about stepping out of doors and coming in with herbs for tea or cooking. I have plans to build raised herb beds…but that is on the “to do list…” So right now they are in pots and a couple of various locations.
Time for me to sign off here, someone made a loaf of grain free jalapeño /cheese bread and we are going to enjoy that with some sardines and broccoli salad. Factoid: the last sardine cannery in the USA shut down in 2010
