I realize I have not blogged for several days that was mostly due to the Lyme fighting back. I had several days when I did not feel well, out of sorts on several fronts. I at times feel like my head is reverberating with my hearing, although I am hearing okay. I’ve had some odd muscle weakness in my left arm. I first noticed this as I was walking and realized I was carrying my arm almost in a default position, which changed my gait a bit. I am really hoping this will be corrected with some chiropractic adjustments to my upper back…and not Lyme or mold related.
The last of the furniture was moved out of the house yesterday and we found a home for the lift chair. But now, I have a very large mattress leaned up against a hallway wall. It will be left there as is. The goal was to switch it out for the older mattress in the front bedroom but we simply do not want to bother with that aspect of disposal at this time…and thus it can sit there for the time being. In the bigger scope of life, it does not matter.
During my absence from the blog, a major decision was decided about the new flooring. We were not going to be able to stain the floor like we wanted to (too much time and work involved) so concrete painting with decorative chips was shown to us as an option. It looks a lot like terrazzo without the expense. The main body of the house will be done in beige with the kitchen and bathrooms done in white. This flooring question has been a major financial concern and worry.
So the mold man and the bath room guys both came today. The bath option Hubby was considering I was way too expensive, so we will be looking for other options. Hubby spent the afternoon taking up the carpet while #3 and I work at cleaning up this house and getting the final stages of our leaving done.
I am not happy about leaving things undone here at my house but I have to take the attitude that it is, what it is, and we have to move on at this point. We have a Lyme doctor’s appointment that cannot be missed and both Hubby and I both need a change in focus. This has been at times an overwhelming job not without emotional stress and fatigue. Hard decisions have had to be made. I have managed to get the living room floor opened up, most of my bedroom, and the hallways, minus the queen sized mattress up against one wall.
But lest I sound gloomy, there has been a tremendous amount accomplished. The completion list is short and hopefully when Hubby returns in a couple of months to do the final work it will only take him days and not six weeks. His sister has agreed to come down and help him at that time, which I am extremely thankful to her for this.
And I don’t want to forget that last week #3 finished up the screening job for her Dad. She did a marvelous job and it looks good.
