Yesterday, saw all of us in different directions. Hubby and #1 went to the farmer’s market. It was reported a very slow day but still not a bad day overall for our family. They even sold a pair of wool sock in July! I have encouraged our sock knitter to get her needles clicking; fall will be here before we know it.
I spent yesterday afternoon attempting to control feeling like I couldn't handle life…and planted some cabbage seeds, got my lavender finally potted and piddled a bit out of doors since it had finally stopped raining. Then I came in and Mid-kid and I started working on photographing items she has for her Etsy store. This has been a means to make a bit of money while not feeling well.
Last night as I was making supper something went wrong with my left shoulder and I spent the evening in pain every time I moved. A couple of folks attempted to massage the pain away but finally I decided something needed to pop…so I just took some pain killers and went to bed. This morning it was decided that I was not fit for setting up at the farmer’s market so #1 volunteered to go with Mid-kid. It was a slow day but they came home with a bundle of cash…
Hubby ran some short errands and then came home and began working on the first phase of our kitchen remodel. He removed the hospital bed. I had hoped to have gotten this job done for him while he was down south but between me and the other ladies of the house we never felt well enough to work that hard. Because of the way it was placed into a space where it just fit; literally it required lifting the frame over the edge of the hearth and placing it into the corners of the room. Hospital beds are HEAVY. Getting it out was just as difficult. Hubby used jacks this time to make the job safer and easier.
Debate has been given over the best way to proceed with the kitchen knowing that this is going to really affect our daily lives. So it was decided tonight (subject to change tomorrow) that we would use this small room to put all of the stuff that needs moved from the kitchen. That would be easier than trying to cram it all in the rest of the house while the whole back end of the house was under carpet removal and new flooring installation. We think this way the kitchen can be done and then the small room can be done after the kitchen. At least in theory it will work. Maybe as soon as next week I will begin painting the ceiling. (Providing the neck and shoulder are agreeable).
The girls and I spent the bulk of the day cleaning and organizing our front entrance room. This time of year (market season), and particularly this year, a lot of sewing takes place every week and the mess of it had gotten out of hand. With a little help from my friends, we organized and put some stuff away. While the room still is piled with stuff for the Etsy store and fabric it at least looks neater. I am hoping to be able to set my scanner up on the table and get more photos done. I have started on the next generation.
