Hubby and I were discussing it this morning and we have decided to gradually remove gluten and most grains from his diet again. We have seen improvement in the past by this course of action and now that he is past the “not eating stage” we will again look to the diet for help to keep the lewy days at bay as much as possible. When he is more lewy, we sleep less. He talked all night long last night in his sleep.
Between lack of sleep and my doing something out of the ordinary last evening with my back, I am declaring it a sick day. Sitting with my feet up and resting the body (at least as much as I can between having to hop up and help with the dad. (Hubby and mid-kid are out hanging together spending some father and daughter time.)
It has been a profitable week. We managed to get a good deal of work done out in the garden. We weeded and I put down more straw. The garden area is about 100 feet by 65 feet
We are beginning to need some real rain. Overall the whole region is beginning to need more than just a light shower. Plus, we have had some really cool weather, which makes working out of doors pleasant but it is slowing down the produce.
I was out working one afternoon when the eldest child came out and said, “I hope you don’t mind, I rearranged the living room and put the mattress up against the wall.” (Remember we were using the living room as our guest room.) We probably will get rid of the mattress sooner or later although if we have many more nights like the previous one, it might happen that a couple of us will toss it back down on the floor and attempt to find a quieter place to sleep.
One of the residents like it just the way it is.
He went with me to the Farmers Market last evening because the eldest was not feeling up to it and the youngest was already at the market helping another vendor and the mid-kid needed to be able to get up this morning and go to her market. As I was telling someone last evening who had not met Hubby before, that he was actually one of the early vendors for this particular market. He and the eldest daughter worked this market in the early days….It seems like decades ago but it was only six years, back when we were only peddling rhubarb pies and a few doll clothes. We still peddle pies and doll dresses but we have expanded from one table, to two tents and four tables a long with a much wider inventory of goods.
My Dad had a CAT scan on Tuesday and the doctor did not call to have him come in as agreed at the time the appointment was made, no news is to be considered good news.
I will close with the following. Every year my youngest has a pot of petunias. They are doing very well this year on the front porch.
