The market was very cold, I had on my long johns, a sweatshirt over my denim shirt and then my winter coat over all of that. I was still cold and was glad to get into the warmth of the truck for the ride home.
As expected with the weather and it being the first market of the season it was very very slow but still we were blessed with a good income. Almost everyone who came to buy was a repeat customer from last year. That is encouraging. We have been part of this market now for several years. We committed to five years of trying to get it off of the ground. Last year was our fifth year and we had a very good year. With the health struggles in our home it might have been good to quit this year but honestly, I enjoy what I do, it is a good social outlet for me and allows us to make a little extra spending money.
If you are interested, please take the time to glance at the new blog site one of our resident blog masters has built. This blog is a joint effort and designed for the customers of our farmers markets. Something I have wanted to start for about three years but realistically realized I could not keep up with. It takes a lot of extra time to take and upload photos. Perhaps with 4 out of the 5 of us working on it, we might be able to keep it going over the season. BTW, that is my wheelbarrow and daughter #1's mint patch.
