His infection seems to be clearing up. Although there is still some swelling coming and going in the hand and arm the redness is gone. The first night home he slept very well. The next two were not so good…and last night was okay.
We are getting another cold blast of winter after a couple of days in the 50’s.
The Lymie and I are leaving this afternoon to go to this month's Lyme doctor appointment. We are anxious to hear how the blood work came out. A week ago, I could say she had seen a good bump in improvement but this past week she has not been well. She spent almost all of Wednesday in bed. She is deeply concerned because her hair has been falling out again for the past several weeks.. Whether this is from her body detoxing or if she is anemic again…or some other thing causing the malady, it is a stress to her. Her braid is back down to this poor puny little ribbon. And she feels like she is about bald on one side of her head.
One of her small joys has been that she has been able to partake of coffee again…until this week. It started to bother her again. So she is backing down away from it. Non-coffee drinkers may applaud this but for those of you that enjoy a good cup of coffee, you will understand.
I wish I could put my finger on what caused the set back. I am afraid it was the work I asked her to do on Monday to help us with the flooding in the barn. She was worn out and simply did not recover from it. But then I am afraid that is rather normal with Lyme. The slightest opportunity it will do its work of grinding into the body and tearing it down.
It may simply be that she has arrived at the next level of killing and it is fighting back.
