Well, we have all had to adjust to having Granddaddy sleeping next to the kitchen. The girls hurry to get their evening chores done so he does not growl at them to be quiet for chattering or singing. (Gone are the days of singing over the dish washing.)
We do put up a curtain at night for privacy and to give us a little bit of freedom to enter and use the kitchen. I keep a low light on next to the stove so we can see in the kitchen without having to turn on the overhead.
The Dad is somewhat out of head this week. Too much of something, we know that he has been chewing his metoprolol again so we are being more diligent to remind him to swallow it and not chew it! The metoprolol is a time released pill that is not supposed to be chewed because he gets the whole dose at one time instead of over the course of the day. I am also thinking that it might be the St John’s Wort beginning to affect him…so tomorrow he comes off of it.
As far as the rest of the family: I think, I can say that I am getting better, although I can’t say that I am all better yet. I was a bit worried about hubby this week, he had one day/evening when I was afraid the fatigue was going to take him down. But we are keeping him pumped up with immune boosters and try as much as possible to let him get out and away from the “care” responsibilities as much as we can.
Daughter number two has become the B Team and has learned to just jump in and take over the duties during the day. For this we are extremely thankful.
This afternoon the three daughters are singing with Savannah at the piano! What a joy to this mother’s heart-- To hear them together, joyfully singing and to have eldest at the piano. Two years ago, she was ready to step up to the next level with her music and over the course of the past years she became so unable to function that she was not even able to play let along move forward in her studies. Music seems to be one of the last things that will return to her. So when the sisters get together like this to sing it is extra special because they are able to enjoy the time together AND because it means that the principle piano player has taken to the ivories.
The weather has stayed about the same-cold with more snow. We broke the record for the most snow!! While most folks are complaining about the snow, I am still enjoying the season. The most recent snow covered up all the dirty piles so everything looks fresh and clean again and there is one awesome icicle hanging off the south side of the barn. It must be 3 ft long!!!
Well, that is about it for this post. It has been a while since I have put up any photos so I will add this slide show here at the end.
