At some point we were going down this road and all of a sudden we realized we probably weren’t where we were supposed to be…Umm, where are we? So the Gazateer was pulled out of the back seat and a search was made for where we were...being unsuccessful at that process, I asked this man at a gas pump where we were? “Just outside of Anderson?!” About 15 miles from where I was supposed to be. Evidently, the road split a ways back when I was not paying close enough attention and I missed it. The fix was easy, all we had to do was turn left at the gas station and in a few minutes we would be back on track.
We arrived at our destination just in time for a late supper and a bit of relaxation in the hotel before bed. It was about as cold as it was the last time we were there just minus all of the ice to slip around on getting our scant amount of luggage out of the car.
The visit with the doctor was mainly to go over the new blood work. Nothing earth shattering on that and even some better news than we thought. It was suspected that she has a genetic predisposition to biotoxins. And while the blood work shows evidence that she has a slight problem with biotoxins, it in not genetically in her background. I think this means that it will be easier for her body to deal with the issue.
We did learn that she does have Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever in her blood as well…not sure why that uber expensive doctor did not test for this unless it was fairly well a given since she had every thing else. So now to be more accurate she has 5 vector-borne illnesses in her body.
Her blood count was okay, a bit low but not enough for concern. She plans to take a round of Hemaplex to see if that does not bring it up a bit.
The doctor had no real answer for her hair loss, so we are going to assume it has been from detoxing and the stress of the illness. And perhaps the slightly low iron level.
The doctor said, her set back in feeling bad could be due to trying to detox too much. There is herxing and there is detoxing. One is killing stuff off and the other is getting the toxins it causes out of the body...The doctor says, the body a lot of times cannot handle too much of both.
It was decided to change the protocol from what she was using to the Cowden protocol. This is basically because this doctor works with two familiar protocols and not quite sure how to proceed with what Savannah was doing. I suggested to the doctor that we use what she is familiar with since we were working with her. If this protocol does not work after several months, then my daughter can always go back to working on her own. The new protocol will be cheaper and perhaps even easier to use. Instead of 75 pills a day it will be a tincture she makes up once a day. There will be some pills but not near the amount….Our supplement bill has been running close to a $1000 a month.
My understanding is that the Cowden program works well for some and not so well for others. We are doing all we can to strength the body on all fronts. I have the diet in the home about as cleaned up as I can get. We have eliminated all of the GMO meats, dairy, eggs, grains, and legumes from our home. And while for many, this may seem overkill, it was not until we started this back in Nov that she began to gradually see improvement. We have totally adopted the food as medicine approach. Yes, that makes us most unpopular but I am fighting for the health of my family and people can snark at me all they want. I’ve never quite understood why what I eat should offend my neighbor.
We took a different route home and totally enjoyed the drive home. We arrived just in time for supper.
Other news from the family.
I have started a Candida Cleanse. It seems to be helping the health issue I have been battling for weeks. I’ve been through this Candida mess years ago and know how tired it can make me. So far, I seem to be improving but nowhere near saying all better. For years, I worked very hard at keeping my stress levels under control, but in the past two years, I have been running on “go” and in January, I must have pushed go one time too many. With spring arriving any day now, I am ready to move into my next "push go" season and I realize, I am going to have to face it a bit slower and methodically.
Hubby told me this morning that he thinks his lymph node is swelling again. I have been waiting for this news…he has not been getting adequate rest. He also told me that when he did his VA blood draw yesterday that the blood was dark in color and that he did not bleed from the point of entry….
What does all of this means—we have suspected now for some time that he has this vector borne soup as well, or at least some of it. He has a long list of symptoms that fit the check list. Particularly since the lymph issue was not cleared up with the antibiotics they gave him last year with no explanation as to what caused it. The dark blood would be indicative of biofilm, etc.
The long and the short of this sketchy report is that we are a family that is helping one another along at this time and blessed that we have one another.
