Yesterday, I decided to clean off and move some book shelves around. Good thing too, because I found some power post beetle damage in one of them. So that shelf has been moved out to be sprayed before it is relocated to another part of the house.
If you know us, you know we are readers. We have books, they are not for decoration, and we all usually have a pile we are either reading or planning to read. In some cases, we use boxes of books for end tables…one of the complications we had as our children grew from children to adults was their books got bigger and took up more space and they began to specialize in their interests. I gave up trying to keep them organized. (I do however have a fairly complete list of titles for insurance purposes.) I met a historian once who said he and his wife bought the house next door for their library. Well, that has always kind of been out of the question. But I have always thought that a shipping container would make a fine library-8 ft wide, 40 feet long with a window AC cut into it for climate control, with good daylight LED bulbs and a couple comfortable chairs. Oh, yes and a desk….and of course it would have to be painted and landscaped to look like nice. Much cheaper than the house next door.
I have three more sets of shelves I want to clean while I am here just because I am cleaning the house in the process of doing everything else. And as I clean book shelves I always evaluate what is there. So far I have a growing box to go to the thrift store. The room I am sitting in will be the next big challenge. Since we are operating on DSL we are tethered in this corner…I am thinking we will move the “box” that keeps us connected to the world…to the other end of the house. So that this space can be thoroughly cleaned but that would mean that I have to clean out that other area first….
Yes, these are random thoughts…Perhaps I am feeling Lyme-ish this morning with that 96.1 temperature, and I am just trying to collect my thoughts and hang on to them…or maybe I am just planning my day…trying to motivate myself to want to continue on with the tasks in front of me. I start on a different rotation of bug killers today and I am hoping it makes me feel better instead of worse.
Speaking of bugs…I hear that Mid-Kid is really not feeling well. I appreciate your prayers for her. She has had a pretty steady (off and on) low grade case of meningitis now for some time-almost since she started the newer protocol. We suspect this is just her reaction to the work of the Lyme/co-infection killers she is taking. If she does any physical labor, it takes her down.
Hubby started on the house roof yesterday. There was a bit more rot there than he had anticipated. I am not sure that he is going to feel like finishing it up today. He got up in the night and was feeling very ill. He seemed to feel fine when he went to bed, but I suspect he got overheated, I hope that is all. I plan to keep him resting as much as I can today.
Everyone else in the house is still in bed…but I am ready to go start working so I will be quiet as a mouse and sneak to the other end of the house…
