I had intended to put him in the standing frame yesterday but because we had him up for other purposes and I felt like he had had enough for the day. He said he didn’t think he wanted to…and that is a good indicator that it probably wasn’t in his best interest. (He needs to be mentally working with the process…) Instead, I sat with him for a good hour or more just talking to him and helping him eat his lunch.
When I went to see him a couple of hours later, his mind seemed clearer yet.
Today, he has a painful tooth but we couldn’t get him into the dentist until Monday. So we’ve given him liquid food.
He stood up in the standing frame for 40 minutes. While there he exercises his arms. Today he didn’t want to work at it so Mid-kid did her old PT routine with him to get his arms loosen up a bit.
Mid-kid has not been well today. She all of sudden started having shooting/cramping pain in her ankle and knee. After that the leg went numb for several hours. Dad didn’t know about this when she was out with him…so later on when I took him his liquid supper I told him that she wasn’t doing very well today. (Of course, she had put on her chitter chatter sweet self to do his therapy so he didn’t know.)
I was very encouraged when we (#1 and #3) went out to put him to bed and he asked how Mid-kid was doing. He had remembered that she was not well. He was stronger getting into bed. Not needing quite as much help.
