Hubby took his dad to his new doctor today. Hubby said he was very nice and that it was a good visit. I am so glad. This doctor is in a neighboring town and a bit further but if a hospital were needed, I do not think there is a finer small town hospital in the country. The staff are friendly, the hospital is clean, and everyone seems very competent. I have been there several times with my parents. I do not feel any hospital or their doctor could do better with either of my parents. This was my reason for wanting to get hubby's dad connected to this particular hospital.
Anyway, Hubby explained the whole past couple of months...the doctor said he did not see any signs of Parkinson's and that it is a list of symptoms AND if the medicine makes things worse then one should not be one it!!! I cannot for the life of me not understand how the doctor and nurses in Florida did not understand this. Dad also got a consult for outpatient therapy at our local rehab center. These are the folks that trained Racheal how to work with my dad, really nice and caring staff--in a very nice facility. So we are hopeful that the outing for therapy will be an encouragement to Dad. I am not sure when that is supposed to begin.
