I meant to write this last week but obviously it didn’t happen for one reason or another. I find that I write more about the Hubby’s dad and less about us. Perhaps because life is either mundane or I am just too tired to care. The weather has been so cold and long lived that for the most part we have just hunkered down and rested as much as possible.
With the warmer days we are beginning to crawl out of the crevices of the dark days of winter. We have begun some form of house cleaning, although more out of necessity than energy.
Our confirmed Lymie started her new protocol and it must have been what she needed because it rather knocked her down for a couple of weeks. She has had what the doctor called an emotional herx and as promised this seemed to pass after a few days. Her hair has continued to fall out by the handfuls and she has very little of her long pig tail left. So we are hopeful that the new growth will continue and eventually her hair will thicken back up after her body gets done throwing off toxins.
She also had her first cold in a very long time last week. An interesting fact is that some Lymies seem not to be bothered by colds. The key word in that sentence is “some”, because others are susceptible to every germ that comes down the pike.
Hubby attempted to talk with his VA doctor last week about the possibility that he might have some of this Lyme/Bartonella soup. His lymph gland was swollen again but seemed to diminish after several days and a particular supplement his daughter shared with him. The VA doctor laughed at him. From our understanding, this is fairly common and nothing to take too personally, just ignorance at its best! Hubby was not looking to be treated by the VA he was only requesting some blood work. Blood work denied….So his daughter has started sharing supplements with him. Our first thought is that he has the biofilm because his blood was very dark and slow when it was drawn and he does not bleed with ease. In the meantime, we continue to study on our own…when our brains are alert enough…There are ways to order and get a few of the necessary tests for personal evaluation.
Daughter #2 had a bout of aseptic meningitis last week. It has been several months since the last bout…She had it several times last year and that was one of the reasons we began to suspect she too has the Lyme soup. This malady has cropped up off and on for several years with no explanation. Now we have what we think is the explanation. Overall, this daughter is doing much better than she was several months ago. I believe that is because we have gone 100% non-GMO. While this a controversial subject, evidence continues to mount that GMO damages the guts---and this daughter in particular has a “gut” issue. This non-GMO approach has pretty much arrested the monthly diverticulitis attacks that hubby was having. So if you are prone to think I am nuts, then go right ahead, it is the health of my family that I am fighting for.
I am doing better but not all better. I am on my third week of Candida cleansing. I can still feel my stress levels pop up out of nowhere like my body is trying to tell my adrenals to produce glucose to feed the Candida….when I feel that happen I go pop a pill to bring the stress down….Overall, I am a LOT better but just not all better.
The youngest seems to be getting along okay at this time. She worried and fussed over a chicken all last week. One of the younger layers had an impacted crop…so she isolated her and fed her oil and yogurt for about a week with little improvement. The feathered gal never did get lethargic…so darling daughter opted to put her back with flock and let her live or die. We figure if she gets lethargic in a few days we can make a pot of bone broth out of her.
My folks are doing okay. Mom has tried some hydrocodone for her pain, without a lot of success, it did make her constipated. But then Mom is not a woman to ever take her meds with any regularity. I gave her a bottle of Boswellian to try to see if it will manage the pain and relieve the constipation. Too early to tell on that one but since the hydrocodone wasn’t working and Boswellian is supposed to work as well if not better, it was worth a try. Her heart doctor told her that if she was his mother or grandmother, he would not allow her to consider a hip replacement at her age and health risk. And I think she was relieved to get that advice. She seems more content with her situation than she did a few weeks ago.
The daffodils are coming up very slowly, the yard looks disastrous after such a cold winter with none of us in any hurry to start the yard work chores. I did get my garden seeds order last week and I am beginning to think about Farmers Markets. And if I wasn’t I have a market meeting this weekend to remind me to start thinking….
